深く、吸い込まれるような群青。
本品は アイフェル地方（ドイツ） で産出したアウイナイト（Hauyne）のルースです。

アイフェル地方は火山活動によって形成された地質を持ち、
アウイナイトの世界的な銘産地として知られています。
この地域から産出するアウイナイトは、
色の密度が高く、青の輪郭がはっきりしている点が特徴です。

ラピスラズリを思わせるウルトラマリンブルーを示しますが、
その発色は顔料によるものではなく、
結晶構造そのものが生み出す青。
光を受けることで、石の奥から青が立ち上がるような表情を見せます。

アウイナイトは結晶が非常に小さく成長する鉱物のため、
ルースとして流通するものはほとんどが小粒。
それでもなお高く評価されるのは、
サイズを超えて伝わる「色の力」と「存在感」があるからです。

本品も決して大きさで主張する石ではありませんが、
アイフェル産らしい引き締まった群青がしっかりと感じられる、
コレクション性の高い一点です。
